Jacob Cohen is a managing director on Lument’s real estate capital markets team. Based out of New York, he is responsible for placing debt and equity for commercial real estate clients utilizing a wide range of lending sources, including banks, debt funds, life companies, conduits, and Lument’s proprietary capital.
Jacob joined Lument in 2023 from Walker & Dunlop, where he spent several years as part of the company’s capital markets team, most recently as a senior director. Prior to that, he was a vice president with Deerwood Real Estate Capital, which was acquired by Walker & Dunlop in 2017. Prior to joining Deerwood, Jacob worked as a loan underwriter for Skycap Funding, where he implemented new procedures for underwriting business loans. Over the course of his career, he has been responsible for the underwriting and placing of more than $2 billion in transaction volume across all asset classes throughout the U.S.
Jacob earned an MBA in finance from Bar Ilan University and bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Excelsior College.
