Ken Clarence is a managing director with Lument and is based in El Paso, Texas. He is responsible for originating loans utilizing Lument’s full suite of capital solutions in addition to his strong relationships with regional and national life companies.
Ken has more than 50 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry, where he has been instrumental in arranging construction, acquisition, and permanent financing for a broad range of income-producing property types. He served as a director of Western Heritage Bank from 2017 until 2024 where he served on the loan committee and chaired the asset/liability committee. Prior to joining Lument, he was president of V.P. Clarence Company, the oldest privately held commercial mortgage banking firm serving West Texas and New Mexico, with a history of more than $1 billion in loan originations.
Ken earned a business degree from the University of Texas at El Paso after attending the University of Texas in Austin when he came home to join the family business. He is a longtime member of the Strategic Alliance Mortgage organization and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).
