Craig Castaldi is a director of loan originations on the small balance loan (SBL) team at Lument. He joined Lument in April 2023 after spending a decade at Ready Capital, where he served as a strategic relationship manager and credit manager based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area.
In his day-to-day role at Lument, Craig works with a team specializing in small balance loan agency, bridge-to-agency, and securitized financing for multifamily sponsors around the country.
Craig has helped close more than $1 billion in Freddie Mac SBL, bridge, and CMBS transactions over the course of his career as a manager, senior credit officer, and underwriter. Those financing deals include the origination of more than $380 million in multifamily loans since 2017.
During his 10 years as a vice president at Ready Capital, he also led credit oversight of a securitization backed by 99 fixed- and floating-rate loans and supervised a team that collectively underwrote and closed 150 loans totaling more than $400 million.
Prior to Ready Capital, Craig worked at Alliant Capital, Union Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Deutsche Bank.
Craig earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Emory University in 1996.
