Veteran capital markets pro to lead firm’s life company lending strategy and central desk operations.

New York, NY — June 3, 2026 — Rob Bedwell has joined Lument as a managing director in its debt capital markets group, where he will focus on expanding the firm’s life insurance company lending platform and overseeing its central desk operations.

Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Bedwell is responsible for managing life company lender relationships, guiding product strategy, and integrating life company executions across Lument’s platform. He reports to Rick Warren, head of real estate capital markets.

“Rob brings incredibly deep experience across life company lending and the broader capital markets, along with longstanding relationships,” said Warren. “Our goal is to offer clients access to every relevant capital source for every transaction. Rob’s leadership will be critical to achieving that — expanding our life company partnerships and ensuring we can deliver the most competitive executions in the market.”

Bedwell joins Lument with more than 26 years of experience in commercial mortgage lending and real estate finance. He most recently served as director of real estate capital markets at Huntington Bank (following its acquisition of Cadence Bank). Previously, he was managing director of capital markets, debt and equity finance at Colliers. Bedwell also spent over 14 years at Protective Life, where he oversaw an approximately $10 billion commercial mortgage loan portfolio and led a national production team.

In his role at Lument, Bedwell supports the continued expansion of the firm’s life company lending platform, including the addition of new correspondent relationships and the integration of those capital sources into the firm’s existing product offerings. He also leads centralized desk functions for debt capital markets, which support originators across the platform.

“Lument has built a strong debt capital markets platform with meaningful momentum,” said Bedwell. “I am excited to further develop the firm’s life company relationships and broaden access to competitive, long-term capital for clients.”

Lument has continued to expand its debt capital markets business in recent years, building relationships with a range of capital providers, including life companies, banks, debt funds, and conduit lenders. The addition of Bedwell further supports efforts to provide a broader set of financing solutions across asset types and market conditions. Lument has completed over $1.9 billion in debt placement volume since launching its debt capital markets platform in 2024.
